A Roanoke couple wants to construct a modern-looking boutique hotel in the city’s Crystal Spring neighborhood to replace a hair salon and former Famous Anthony’s restaurant.

Plans call for a four-story hotel with about two dozen rooms and an adjoining restaurant that could seat more than 200 people on Crystal Spring Avenue Southwest. Renderings by a Charlottesville-based architecture firm submitted to the city show a floor-to-ceiling glass facade anchoring the building, which would sit just north of the tony neighborhood’s post office.
