- Thursday, 5/29 to Sunday, 6/1 — Carilion Healing Ceiling Tiles Art Show at the Taubman Museum of Art (110 Salem Ave. SE, Roanoke). An exhibition of ceiling tile art that has been created as a collaboration between visitors to the Taubman Museum of Art with the knowledge as assistance of museum staff as a measure of enjoyment and enrichment for Carilion Clinic patients.
- Friday, 5/30 to Saturday, 5/31 — Live music: Hits of the 1960s presented by Mill Mountain Theatre (1 Market Sq., Roanoke). Back by popular demand, your MMT alumni talent will showcase the catchiest songs from one of the most revolutionary decades in music, the 60’s.
- Friday, 5/30 to Saturday, 5/31 — Norfolk & Western Class J No. 611 75th Anniversary Celebration presented by Norfolk Southern at the Virginia Museum of Transportation (303 Norfolk Ave. SW, Roanoke). Enjoy a weekend packed with live music, food and drinks, a silent auction, magic, and a journey through the incredible history of the 611. Plus, witness a special dedication ceremony (5/31/25 @ 11am) recognizing both Norfolk & Western 611 and 1218 as official National Historic Landmarks. General admission applies. ($)
- Friday, 5/30 to Sunday, 6/1 — Lebanese Festival at St. Elias Maronite Catholic Church (4730 Cove Road NW). Features delicious Lebanese food, Lebanese music and traditional Lebanese folk dancers in full costume.
- Saturday, 5/31 to Sunday, 6/1 — 67th Annual Sidewalk Art Show presented by the Taubman Museum of Art on the streets immediately surrounding the art museum (110 Salem Ave. SE, Roanoke and the surrounding area). This annual event has become one of Southwest Virginia’s most anticipated events, boasting a reputation as a premier destination for fine art shopping. All of the works exhibited are for sale including original paintings, prints, watercolors, etchings, mixed media, fine art photographs, fine crafts, and sculpture.

The Taubman Museum of Art is proud to present a brand-new exhibition, Opposites Abstract: A Mo Willems Exhibit. Created by the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh in partnership with The Mo Willems Studio, this exhibition is based on the exploration of opposites in bestselling children’s book author and illustrator Mo Willems’ book, Opposites Abstract. Exciting hands-on activity stations accompany the 20 paintings that make up the exhibition. The party will feature children’s activities, cake, and live music from Einstein’s Monkey. ($)
