This weekend:
- Through July 13 — Salem Fair at the Salem Civic Center (1001 Roanoke Blvd, Salem). Children 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult parent or guardian age 25 or older with valid I.D. at all times. Clear bag policy. Free gate admission.
- Thursday, 7/3 to Saturday, 7/5 — Buchanan Community Carnival at Buchanan Town Park (485 Lowe St., Buchanan). Come out to enjoy food, including Buchanan's world famous hand-cut fries, ice cream, and burgers; great music every night; games; and rides! Fireworks on July 4th and 5th.
Wednesday, June 25

- 4 to 10 p.m. — Freedom Fest: Empty Bottles w. Troublesome Blues Band with All-Star Jam Sets presented by 5PTS Outdoors at Rivers Edge North (Reserve Ave., Roanoke). Features an All-Star lineup of your favorite artists from dozens of local and regional bands. Welcome to the stage special guest performances from other local musicians including members from Jared Stout Band, Lazy Man Dub Band, Gak!, Ben Trout, Dead Reckoning, Ripejive, Shorefire, Half Moon, Chupacabras, and many others. Bring a chair or a blanket and stay for the fireworks.

- 6 to 7:30 p.m. — Community Night: Grow Local presented by Carilion Clinic at Morningside Urban Farm (917 Morgan Ave. SE, Roanoke). Yoga, gardening/farming and kids activities kick off at 6 p.m., followed by a workshop at 6:45 p.m.

- 4 p.m. — Fourth of July on the Rooftop at 1772 Rooftop on Main (18 South Roanoke St., Fincastle). Enjoy refreshing cocktails, our full entree menu, a fun atmosphere, and fireworks!
- 5 p.m. — Buchanan 4th of July Parade along Main Street in the Town of Buchanan. Be part of a tradition in the making.
- 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. — Leonard Blush & The Camelcals at Parkway Brewing Company (739 Kessler Mill Rd., Salem).
- 6 p.m. — Vinton 4th of July Celebration on the Vinton War Memorial lawn (814 E. Washington Ave., Vinton). Music will be provided by DJ Flex. The firework show will begin at 9:30 pm. No pets, alcohol, or personal fireworks.
