Evening — Downtown Live Music & City Market Nightlife
Downtown Roanoke
From bands at 5 Points Music Sanctuary to sets at Martin’s Downtown and spots around Market Square, Friday brings a rotating lineup of live music in the core.
Saturday, May 30
9 a.m.–2 p.m. — Historic City Market & Mega Market Match
Market Square, Downtown Roanoke
Vendors fill the Historic City Market with produce, baked goods, crafts and coffee; on specified days, SNAP/EBT tokens are doubled up to 100 dollars per person via Mega Market Match—more fresh food for the same money.
1 to 3 p.m. — Ollie Howie Day May 31st: STEAM Lab & Community Celebration at the Melrose Library (2502 Melrose Ave. NW, Roanoke). Celebrate the neighborhood with hands‑on STEAM activities, community service awards, and giveaways recognizing folks who are making a difference close to home celebrating a day before this year.
Daytime — Special Events & Tournaments in County Parks

County Parks & Rec runs festivals, races and family events at Explore Park, Green Hill Park, Green Ridge Recreation Center and more—everything from outdoor festivals to sports tournaments.

Live music on an outdoor stage at Explore Park with food and drinks available; part of the county’s spring/summer music lineup.
